![]() | About HerHer early poems were mainly about family; parents, children and the challenges of child-rearing and domestic life. This was the landscape of her early years. She still writes about family but mainly grandchildren these days. But now she has the time to notice the real landscape and contemplate her life experiences in a self-mocking way. Over the twenty years she has been writing, she has been widely published and won many awards. These include the Terri and Hal Moore Award in 2002 and the Norma and Colin Knight Award in 2004 and 2006 as well as Runner-up, Highly Commended and Commended awards.
She has been published in literary journals including Poetrix, Famous Reporter, Positive Words and Creatrix as well as in numerous anthologies including FourW thirteen, Philomel and Wattle Bird, Running through the Stars, A Net of Hands, pageseventeen and most recently Best Australian Poems 2012. Her first collection of poetry, On a Hook Behind the Door, was published by Ginninderra Press in 2011.
